Device Setup & Placement

The device should be placed:
Just left of the center of your chest (sternum)
Below your collarbone (clavicle)
Above your nipple
Not under your arm

The device should be positioned so that the flashing light is facing upward.

No—please only use the electrodes we provided and do not tape the device itself.
Tapes can:
Leave adhesive residue
Damage the device
If something feels loose or needs adjustment, please follow our instructions or contact us.
Wearing the Device (Daily Use)

Yes. Wearing a watch, necklace, or similar jewelry is fine.

Yes, you can continue most normal activities.
Good options:
Walking
Running
Cycling
Light sports
Avoid:
Swimming
Contact sports (like boxing)
Activities that could knock or damage the device
Helpful tips:
Wear a tight t-shirt to keep the device secure
Tuck your shirt into your pants to help protect the device

Yes. Please avoid:
Hot tubs, jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, or hot yoga
Electric blankets over the device
Prolonged direct sun exposure
Excessive heat can damage both your skin and the device.

Travelling within Canada is generally okay.
However:
Do not leave the country with the device or related forms.
If flying, keep your requisition and diary with you.
You can explain to airport staff that you are wearing a medical monitoring device. If unsure, please contact us before traveling.
Showering & Hygiene

Yes—quick showers are okay.
• Do not submerge the device:
No bathing
No swimming
No hot tubs
• Avoid direct water pressure on the device.

Do not apply soap directly on the device or electrodes.
You may:
Wash areas around the device where there are no electrodes
Avoid:
Soaking the electrodes
Washing or scrubbing the device
Electrodes & Skin Care

The electrodes are designed to last about 3–4 days.
They may loosen sooner if you:
Sweat more
Exercise frequently
Shower often
If needed, you may reinforce only the electrodes with skin-safe medical tape.
Do not tape the device itself.
You can ask our staff or a pharmacist for suitable tape.

If you experience severe irritation such as:
Intense itching
Burning sensation
You should:
Remove the device and electrodes immediately
Apply an ointment (e.g., Polysporin or a safe skin moisturizer)
Avoid scratching
Gently massage the area if needed
Once the skin has recovered:
Wash the area with soap and water
Ensure it is clean and dry
Apply a new set of electrodes
Resume monitoring
Device Lights & Status Indicators

A green flashing light means the device is working properly.
Any pattern or frequency of green flashing is acceptable.
As long as it is flashing green, your recording is ongoing.

This is completely normal.
The device may flash in different patterns or frequencies.
This does not indicate any issue—please continue your study as usual. -
If the device is flashing red, please contact us:

Include a brief description of what you are observing

Observe the device continuously for at least one full minute.
If there is no flashing for over one minute, it may indicate:
The recording has stopped
The study ended early
A device issue
If this happens before your study is complete, please email support@aicardio.ca.
Our team will respond within 24 hours. -
Please contact us if:
The device does not flash for over one minute
The device is flashing red
If the light is green (in any pattern), everything is functioning normally.

If the light affects your sleep or comfort, you may place a small piece of electrical tape or masking tape over the light only.
Avoid:
Paper tape
Scotch tape
Packaging tape or strong adhesives
These may damage the device.
You may also ask our staff for a safer option.
Device Handling & Safety

No action is required.
The device remains on for the entire study
You do not need to turn it on or off
If possible, make a note in your diary when you remove and reapply it
If you forget, that is completely fine.

Avoid dropping the device.
A fall can cause internal damage, even if there is no visible issue.
Always keep the device secure. -
All devices are professionally cleaned and sanitized by our team using manufacturer-approved materials.
Do not use:
Alcohol
Lysol
Household cleaners or disinfectants
These can damage the device.
Returning the Device

Remove the device
Place it in the provided pouch
Return the pouch to a designated drop-off box

Ideally, return it to the same location where you picked it up.
If another location was approved in advance, you will be given the address.

No, devices must be returned to the drop-off box.
Results & Follow-Up

This depends on the type of test and who ordered it.
Once the device is returned on time, analysis usually takes up to 2 business days
After that, timing depends on the reviewing physician
In most cases, your doctor receives the results within 3–4 days after device return
You may then follow up directly with your doctor.
